Since Brown County is such an agrarian region it has a largely unspoiled landscape that lends itself to hunting. Brown County is a mecca for whitetail deer, drawing hunters from northern, southern and New England states. Images of duck and turkey also come to mind, but fear not, there are also avid hunters of the elusive morel and ginseng! Numerous hunters bring their families along for a fall vacation. According to one local expert, there are between thirty and forty licensed hunting lodges of varying sizes within the county, so any individual, group or family will be able to find an accommodation to fit their needs.
